Ada Ehi’s songs are full of confidence: about identity in Christ, about the power of faith and about God’s goodness. Over more than fifteen years, she has become one of Nigeria’s best-known gospel artists.

Early life and the choir

Ada Ehi was born Ada Ogochukwu Ndukauba on 18 September 1983. She grew up in Nigeria and was drawn to music and church from a young age. During her university days, she was active in the Believers Loveworld Campus Fellowship, connected with Christ Embassy, the church led by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. She later joined the Christ Embassy choir, where she developed as a worship leader and performer.

She met her husband, Moses Ehi, at Christ Embassy while at university. They married in 2008 and have two children.

FreeNation and the albums

In 2009, she joined the FreeNation record label, where she has released her music and built her professional career. Her debut studio album, Undenied, was released in November 2009, introducing her energetic style of gospel. In November 2013, she released a two-disc album, Lifted and So Fly, which expanded her audience. Her third studio album, Future Now, came out on 16 October 2017. She followed with Ada’s EP Vol 1 in 2019, Born of God in 2020, Consecrated in 2024 and Higher in 2026.

Influence and style

In 2017, she was named on YNaija’s list of 100 influential Christians in Nigeria, recognising her impact beyond music. Many of Ada Ehi’s songs focus on who believers are in Christ, encouraging listeners to live with faith and confidence. Her lyrics are often direct declarations drawn from Scripture. Ada Ehi is known for lively, well-choreographed performances, often with a band and dancers. Her concerts and ministrations combine celebration with moments of quiet worship.

Family and ministry

She often speaks about balancing ministry with family life, and her husband has been involved in supporting her career. Their partnership is part of her public story. Several of her songs have become popular with children in Sunday schools, thanks to their simple, positive lyrics about identity and faith. Some gospel songs ask for help; many of Ada Ehi’s announce what faith already holds. That note of assurance is why her songs are often sung loudly, with hands raised, in churches across Nigeria and the diaspora.
